Located in Winnetka, this new home for a growing family is inspired by the traditional east coast vernacular of shingle style architecture. The street-facing facade is modest and features white clapboard siding, Vermont slate roof tiles, operable window shutters, and a vegetated entry courtyard leading to the front entry. The rear facades opens up dramatically with large expanses of glass, celebrating the variety of terraces, pool, cabana, and lush landscape. The interior of the house is organized around formal entertaining spaces, with an adjacent wing dedicated to cooking and family spaces. Other features include a sitting porch, a wine room, and an International Singles Squash Court at the lowest living level.
